YMI Obsessed

It’s time for a new installment of The Next Big Thing, where YMI brings you an outfit from some of the coolest up-and-coming designers. Today’s outfit is inspired by romantic summer evenings. The sun is finally out to stay and there’s nothing better than a hot date at an outdoor café. If you want to look sexy yet sophisticated for the lucky guy in question, look no further than this outfit.  We’ll help you knock his socks off.

Start out with a pair of skinny jeans by YMI. The rich dark blue wash is perfect for a night on the town, and these puppies are guaranteed to make your ass look fantastic.  We promise.

Then throw on this super cute blouse made by Rebecca of Replica. Rebecca quit her day job a little over a year ago to sell clothes on Etsy full time.  She makes amazing shirts and blouses from her home in Ontario, and also runs a really cool vintage shop called Darling Brigade. We just love this patterned blouse with an overlapping cowl. You can wear it with a tank top underneath or by itself if you want to show a little more skin.

No outfit is complete without the perfect accessory.  There are plenty of goodies to choose from at Chain Chain Chained, the jewelry store run by Regina. Originally from Russia, Regina now lives and works in Detroit. In addition to making some of the coolest necklaces and earrings we’ve ever seen, she also runs a vintage shop and writes a blog.  We had a hard time picking our favorite accessory for this outfit but we finally came to the conclusion that this lock and key necklace just screams romance.

Finally, you’ll need a purse to pack up all of your date necessities – lipstick for a touch up, some breath mints in case things go really well, and your cell phone to call your girls for a late night hang out session in case the dude is a dud and the date ends early. You want something sleek, simple, and sophisticated. Might we suggest the beautiful leather purses at Rennes Le Chateau? Designer Julia works out of a co-op in downtown Boston to create awesome dresses and bags. We think Gretel Tote in chocolate is simply divine.
