On this particular Friday we’re craving a little electro-indie-pop and what better way to satisfy our hankering than to spotlight one fantastic band, Shiny Toy Guns. Their powerful choruses and addictive dance beats make their music unstoppable.
Here quick timeline of their awesomeness:
-The band released their first album “We Are Pilots” in 2006 with singles “Le Disko”,”You Are the One” and “Rainy Monday.”
-In 2007 they received a Grammy Award nomination in the category of Best Electronic/Dance Album.
-In 2008 the lead singer was replaced by the lovely Miss Sisely Treasure, and they released their sophomore album, “Season of Poison” and their single “Ricochet!”
-In January of last year their second single, “Ghost Town” was released with the most amazing music video ever created!
Check out the hauntingly epic animated music video for their hit, “Ghost Town” – you’ll probably love it as much as we do….but that’s highly doubtful

Our new belted bootcuts in a dark rinse with embroidered back pockets look super sharp and classy. You could wear these babies to a nice dinner, on a walk in the park or even to work – yeah, they’re that versatile and that’s why we love ‘em!
These lightly distressed bootcuts in indigo blue are all about the sweet “cross” back pocket design and classic fit. They’ve got the YMI comfort factor but don’t leave out the most important part…they look totally hot.
We really don’t like to pick favorites but these 5-pocket belted skinnies hold a special place in our hearts. They’ve got a great medium blue wash so you can see all the fantastic details in the stitching.
The gray days are a’comin and we’re not just talking about the weather! We’ve got some fantastic new light gray bootcuts that we’ve paired with our favorite gray items from a few extraordinary designers we found on our beloved Etsy!
This is a beautiful chunky soft light gray pom pom hat made from 100% wool which means it can carry you over to the winter time and beyond! Dolly Knits loves knitting so much that she once helped to break the world record for knitting the worlds longest cashmere scarf…it was yellow (adorable). Items are knit to order so you can get this hat without the pom pom but in our opinion, that’s what makes this so special.
This young gal wants to stencil her way into your heart and she’s already found her way into ours. We love a good graphic T and this particular one called “phonograph playing hearts” from Non Trendy tops them all.
This pair of fingerless gloves is a really great accessory that allows you to text like a madwoman while staying stylish and warm. They are knit in a beautiful silver gray with a gorgeous braid pattern. There is no doubt that the woman behind German Perfection is super talented. And for just $15…to her we say danke schön!

I was the lucky winner of the YMI Hollywood sweepstakes, which was featured in Star Magazine. I spent two amazing days in Hollywood with my sister, Brittany, where we stayed at the beautiful Mondrian Hotel on Sunset! The best part of the trip by far was having lunch with Kim Caldwell! She was super chill and down the earth! We also went to the über chic Warren Tricomi Salon for haircuts and blow-outs. The staff was awesome and I loved being pampered.
The next day we went to the YMI office for our shopping spree, and I got tons of free jeans in all their amazing styles! We then had the rest of the day to explore Hollywood. During the entire trip we felt so spoiled (celebrity style) that we totally didn’t want to leave! It was definitely one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had! Thank you so much to YMI, Kim Caldwell, and Star Magazine!
